Fantastic Steak. Great venue, great service. Very similar to a Del Frisco's. Would have preferred the Bar situated so that it is separate from Dining room seating area. Lobster Mac & Cheese highly recommended - a must.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. A little background: I called this place a week in advance to get reservations for my wife's 30th birthday. Since they don't have a kids menu, I called and asked if the chef could accommodate a kids meal of chicken fingers and French fries to which the hostess told me it should be no problem, but she would call me back if it was. Having not heard from her we left and traveled 45 minutes to Brooks. Upon arrival the host informed me that they have no chicken in house and cannot accommodate our request. AFTER driving all that way! AFTER having the note on our reservation where he EASILY could have called us before hand. AFTER we were told it would be no issue. Needless to say, we left. The host was rude and un-genuine in his apology. Brooks will never receive our business after that poor show of customer service.

Beware! Do not vallet park your car! Brooks has contracted with Executive Parking knowing that they do not carry insurance! One of their valets had an accident with our car during Denver Restaurant week. In contacting Executive Parking's insurance, we learned that they had provided a fraudulent insurance certificate to Brook's. Brooks did not verify their insurance. Neither Executive Parking nor Brook's covered the body work needed to our car. We regulariy dined at Brook's prior to this experience. We will never dine there again! Shame on Executive Parking and Brooks.

Brook's did a great job for my wife's birthday. We had a nice corner table, were promptly seated, and water and bread were provided within 3 minutes. Courtney was a great server, very friendly and I was impressed with her willingness to go the extra mile for my pregnant wife. She asked if they had any non-alcoholic beverages (which they don't) and instead of saying, "sorry, no", she presented an alternate fruit concoction from the bar (which was very good!) It was a 5280 night, however, we ordered off the main menu. From salad to dessert, courses were separated out well and I felt like Courtney always kept an eye and timed things based on where we were at with each. My wife had the bone in ribeye (huge!), took 3/4 of it home. It was cooked very well and not overly seasoned. I give Brooks credit for letting their meats speak for themselves. I had lamp chops which were very good, just the right amount of fat and again, great grass fed taste which is what I was looking for. Sides were good, not great. Asparagus finished on the grill is a nice touch, garlic mashed potatoes were, well, garlic mashed potatoes. I would not order them again, don't know if they have a signature starch dish or not but that wasn't it (I hope!). Courtney came around every 10-15 minutes, perfect timing for me and the manager stopped, briefly, to check in. In my opinion, that's the way it should be. A quick couple words, a smile, and off they go (as long as everything is up to par). Dessert was really good...fruit crisp and they put a candle in it for my wife (and also comped it...nicely done). Only little thing was a broken espresso machine, no biggie and it was the weekend so I cut them some slack. Overall, great experience, pricey but if you're going there, do you really think it's not going to cost you? You get what you pay for...enjoy the moment and indulge in some great food.

We had a really excellent dinner here. I absolutely love the dark charming interior of the inside. The waitress was so nice and overly accommodating. I had the steak and crab, and it was awesome. We had something like a sampler thing, but I don't remember exactly what it was. For dessert I had a chocolate sundae, and it was so excellent. I will definitely be coming back to have another great dinner here. We came during Halloween, so there weren't a lot of people dining that night, but usually it's really busy and sometimes hard to get into ... I loved everything and I had no complaints.

I was here for Easter brunch & was not disappointed. An exquisite selection of top shelf food was on tap. Pre split king crab legs, jumbo shrimp, oysters, lamb, ham & beef tenderloin are just a taste of what we had available to us. Everything was cooked perfectly & tasted great. We have been here numerous times for brunch and have enjoyed each visit. The only issue is the price, very steep for a buffet even with the great selection of food. Overall my wallet is a little lighter but my belly was full & we had another great experience.

The food is okay, wait staff is fine, but the prices are very high, and I was once in there on a Saturday night and there were only three tables being served, which was weird. I had high hopes.

This review is based soley on the lack of service from our visit on Saturday 12/13/2014 at 6:30pm. We were seated with no menus. 17 minutes of waiting for our waiter to bring us menus and my husband and I decided to leave. As we were getting up to leave, we see our waiter nearing our table with menus in hand. As he looks at us getting ready to leave he continues to walk past our table and make no acknowledgement of us or bother to ask us why were leaving. As we approach the front door the hostess that had checked us in for our reservation upon arriving, sees us heading towards the door and immediately puts her head down. I stopped in front of her to let her the entire time we were seated we hadn't been given menus. She pretended to be disturbed by it but did nothing an continued to stand at her front podium. I don't expect excellent service because it doesn't exist. But it does need to be adequate if I'm spending money at any establishment.

This is one of my favorite steak houses. I have been holding events here for 15 years and food, service and staff are absolutely wonderful. Steaks grilled to perfection, salad has one of the best dressings I ever had. I love the atmosphere and rich woods and luxury experience. The manager, Tom, went out of his way to make sure everything was ready for our group and the wait staff did a great job with serving and taking care of every detail. By far this is and will be my favorite steak house and my customers that come to my events love it too. Thank you again!

Had one of there special meals with salad, entrée, side and dessert for a fixed price. We were celebrating a birthday. Service was excellent and the food and portion size were great. We'll be back as their atmosphere is divine! The manager even took a pic of us and presented it to us in a nice folder very graciously. Very unexpected. If you go, ask for Gabrielle the server. She was great!

Our friend took my wife and I here and we fell in love right from the get go. The restaurant had an incredibly relaxing ambiance and our host and server were extremely friendly. Even with high expectations we were floored with our experience. We started with the Oysters Rockefeller which was possibly the finest version of the dish we have ever had. The Filet Oscar Style was as good if not better than any of the other steakhouses in the Denver area, and there are a tasty abundance of sides. Can't wait to return to Brook's very soon for a special occasion!

Way way way toooo overpriced $60 for a steak?!?!?! It was good but not $60 good. I'd rather go to Del Frisco's, steakhouse 10 or buckhorn.

I had an awful experience because my car was damaged by their uninsured Valet Service. Although, management indicated that they would cover the damages, they have refused to do anything. Another car was also damaged. I would not suggest that anyone should go to this restaurant because of their very poor business practices.

Great food and great service has been our experience for years of going to Brook's. The steaks were all great with my daughter continually stating it was the best steak she ever had. The salads are incredible with my wife saying she could have just gotten two of the Brook's salads for her meal, until her steak came out, of course. And to finish off the night with all the desserts (creame brûlée, bananas foster, almost flourless chocolate cake and traditional cheese cake) made for a great night! Only the best of the best at Brook's.

Good Food Terrible Service So we had a babysitter and met 4 friends from work there. We had 2+ hours for dinner and couldn't even finish. The service was way TOO slow. Sat down at 6:30 and didn't get my Tanq & Tonic for 35 minutes. We immediately asked for menus and ordered apps, dinner and wine. We were all not happy and the waiter had no idea. He was oblivious. Dinner wasn't served until 8:00 and we had to excuse ourselves at 8:45 to relieve the babysitter. Now, we had several bottles of wine an appetizers but wanted after dinner drinks and dessert but couldn't. Service was way too slow. Food and drinks were good but service ruined it.

I've read great things about this restaurant so my husband decided to make reservations for our anniversary. Given the prices I expected a nice high end steakhouse. We anticipated a beautiful local restaurant, or even a nice chain like Flemings or Ruth Chris, but that wasn't our experience. When we arrived it was clear the parking lot needed an update but the chateau style building did look charming. Once in the building it looked more like the open area of a men's lounge at a golf club or the bar area of a private business club. I would have preferred more of a nice restaurant atmosphere. There couldn't have been more than 10 tables but we were seated directly next to a table of 4 inebriated business bros. One even jumped up straight in the air mimicking the flow of a rocket or a golf ball (to his credit, he did look over slightly embarrassed afterward). There were so many empty tables, why seat us between a boisterous table of 4 and the server/kitchen entrance? When we sat down we were brought a stick of butter on a saucer and a bread loaf covered in burnt onions. Unfortunately, this was the indicator of what our meal would involve much more of what I expect from a diner with fluorescent lights than fine dining. Our waitress was friendly and prompt but she really stretched her descriptions of the food. When I asked about scallops I was told they were excellent and a nice large portion, very well cooked. I received 5 small scallops wrapped in bacon and drowned in a VERY sweet glaze that I could barely choke down. They were comparable to the frozen appetizers you might purchase at Sams Club, not awful but not great. My husband ordered the rib eye and it was average at best, but certainly not what I expected at a quality steakhouse. The sides were just sad. We split the creamed spinach and mac and cheese. The spinach was very heavy and flavorless with what appeared to be jarred slimy mushrooms. The mac and cheese had a nice flavor but was drowning in flavorless breadcrumbs that ruined the dish. I think the worst piece by far was the "complementary creamed corn". It was nothing like the beautiful sweet creamy corn of a good restaurant. The corn was a terrible quality, like Green Giant frozen niblets or something you remember from an elementary school cafeteria. Honestly I think you'd receive a comparable meal at a Golden Corral, Brook's simply offers slightly better ambiance, not the amazing meal you deserve when you pay for a quality steakhouse.

Steak is average, service just ok. Flemings and Capital Grille are much better choices if you're looking for a tender juicy steak and extraordinary service.

Romantic steak adventure, beyond the trendy cattle calls of Del Frisco and Capitol Grille. We went at 6p on a Saturday evening expecting to be the only ones from the reviews here. I thought it would be great to have the server's attention to direct us to the finest experiences at Brooks and maybe a little history of the chateau, when it was the only exclusive steak house in Denver. There were no less than 20 tables bustling when we left, half couples, half small parties. Our server, Lisa, was terrific and well-informed of the menu and our options for preparing the steaks. You won't find a steak for less than $40 here, but it will be cooked to your request and delicious. We had ribeye and NY with oscar. The oysters were $2.50 each, but large and meaty. Great place for events and work parties in the adjacent rooms which have their own TV for sports or presentations. The parking lot is deteriorating, but you should never notice, because the complimentary valet is on par for the experience that you came for.

This really is a top notch restaurant. The steaks melted in our mouths. The serving sizes were generous. They brought extra food to our table. The service was excellent. It is an expensive restaurant but it was worth the price.

We arrived Sunday at 6:30pm for a party of 8 for a surprise birthday party, where the attendees were the ones who were surprised as to who was coming. Sunday is, at least this Sunday was very quiet. If there were 20 people in the main dining room, that was a lot. The positive, we had two servers, and therefore excellent service. Last time my wife and I came was 2013 5280 Restaurant week. The menu was limited, but very good. This time we had the full menu to select from. Here is what we ordered or came to the table.: The wine list presented to us on an IPad, Paper wine list if we preferred. Hot round bread loaf with butter. Hot Seafood Platter with Oysters Rockerfeller, Jumbo Scallops, Jumbo Lump Crab cake with no filler, lightly floured/dusted crawfish with a light tangy cajun spice sauce.. This platter was delicious. Prepared well, the Scallops tender and melt in your mouth with a slight sweet sauce. Not overcooked either the scallop or the bacon wrapped around it. Excellently prepared Oysters Rockerfeller, I think I might have even tasted a hint of pernod in it, though not sure. spinach was cooked, and perfectly layered over the meat so the meat was tender and not rubbery to the bite. Cheese provided a good covering with just a hint of crispiness and not burnt to a crisp Crab cakes, just well done with no filler, my personal preference is a bit more spice to the crab cakes, but still very enjoyable Onion Soup; Served piping hot, Bold dark rich beef broth with the right amount of salt, Gruyere cheese topping done correctly, most time in other restaurants, the cheese covering is burnt and blackened vs browned. Prime Porterhouse steak 24 oz Med Rare; This was excellent, medium rare from tee to tip and served on a very hot plate. Having the bone in and broiled at 1700 degrees is a treat when cooking steak. No complaints, only compliments. Lamb Chops, my wife loved them, and she loves mint jelly with it. Filet Tips with Marsala mushroom wine sauce. I had a taste, Delicious, i didn't expect it to be that good, the tips cooked to medium rare, rich flavorful sauce and excellent presentation. Next time I'm going to order it. Filet Mignon: excellent and expected, if you can't cook a Filet properly, don't call yourself a steak house. Brook's did justice to this cut of meat. Asparagus with hollandaise:Good, though I prefer my hollandaise with a little more lemony tang. Au Gratin Potatoes with Boursin. The Boursin cheese added a nice refreshing twist to a standard potato dish. Also compliments of the Chef, cream corned, the best cream corned I've tasted, and truthfully the first time I've had real cream corn at a restaurant.

We got what we paid for, almost... Food: 5-stars Service: 4-stars Ambiance: 3-stars We stopped in on the Tuesday after Memorial day. That was not a great idea. There was almost NO ONE there having dinner. It just made you feel super awkward. We were there for about an hour and a half and we saw two other sets of guests. One was a business dinner and the other was another couple. That .... was.... it. Total of 4 other guests while we were there. So, ambiance and general feel of the place was super awkward. I'm sure on a Friday night or any night not following a holiday weekend the place would be a lot more fun, but wow, not a great feel. The food was excellent. The steaks we had were really tasty. I had a rib-eye and my wife has a NY strip. I asked for medium and I got medium. That's a big plus in my book since so many steak houses end up under cooking the meat from what I'm used to. Anyway, great food all around. Our waitress was very helpful. The other waitress who had the business dinner group was really chatty and a bit older. She was trying to make small talk with the two gentlemen and she was doing a wretched job. It was clear that they wanted her GEE OH ENN EEE ----GONE asap. Poor gal was just trying to milk what was probably going to be her only tip of the night. Tough luck lady. We might consider going back. But, with all the other nice steakhouse options in the area, I doubt it. The price just wasn't there. The food was great, the service was meh, good enough. And, the ambiance made me feel like I was in a deserted 1960's movie where the other diner extras all forgot to show up. Bleh... NEXT PLEASE!

I am with everyone on the reviews for NYE. We arrived for out 8:30/9 reservation (I don't remember the exact time) to over an hour wait. Um, excuse me? And of course you can't get in anywhere last minute on New Years Eve without reservations. My boyfriend and I were livid, left, and ended up having bar food instead. That was awful. However, when I wrote an email to the restaurant about how displeased we were I promptly received an email from the owner himself. He jumped through hoops to make up for our horrible experience. And apparently there was a lot going on behind the scenes that night. We went back to try it on a calmer night. The service was very good. We really enjoyed the food as well. I'd recommend splitting the largest filet, we got one each and they were huge! Overall, not my favorite in the area BUT less expensive and 4 stars because the owner definitely cares about his customers which is a big deal, the service was excellent, and the food was good as well. Thank you for turning our negative experience into a good one!

I wasn't that impressed with many things from the parking lot to the dim lit interior. The food was just okay and that is coming from a cattle rancher ( wrightwayangus.com ) although they did prepare it well and the cream corn was quite good. For the prices that they charge I expected it to have better flavor. There are better steak houses to be found in denver and many who have a better back story for their products like locally sourced. The service was just okay in my opinion and was especially poor on our way out as the hostess was flirting with a busser and there were folks smoking out by the parking lot. If it's close to where you are and don't mind spending $75 per person dinner then go for it and hope it works out well.

Went here for Valentines day 2015 with my wife and another couple. Two hours after leaving, 3 out of 4 of us became violently ill for the next 12 hours explosive diarrhea and projectile vomiting. I had to go to the hospital the next day for fluids. The ER doctor said I "absolutely" had food poisoning. Called Tom Anderson the GM who said it was probably due to "rich food". I eat at steakhouses all the time and have NEVER had food poisoning. Tom did not even offer an apology. Stay away from this establishment unless u want to risk food born illness.

Service was sub par; the steak was undercooked and sent back by us and the table next to us; and the cheesecake tasted like cardboard to the point that I couldn't eat the full bite-yikes! Not worth the price. Check out another steakhouse don't waste your time or money here.

The owner must have literally decide not to turn down a single reservation on NYE. The hostesses basically said as much. We waited one hour and twenty minutes to be seated for a seven pm reservation. There's a word for making a business commitment to someone which you have no intention of honoring from the outset. It's called fraud. These sheisters ruined mine and a lot of other people's plans for the rest of the night. All other patrons that I encountered had similar experience. The poor staff was getting some of the worst abuse I've ever seen from a mob of angry patrons. The poor manager was so apologetic and gave us some comps but how could I ever give those owners another dime of business? My prediction is that they'll be gone before too long. It seems like the ownership are trying to line their pockets as much as possible on their way out of business. I give 2 stars because once we were finally sat and got the attention of a server everything went reasonably well. The food was about what you would expect from a prime steakhouse though there was nothing standout. Even without having been fleeced by their holiday cash grab I probably wouln't choose the place again over better options in the area such as Del Frisco's.

We were there during the Denver's restaurant week where you have a "special" pre-selected menu (usually 3-4 courses) for $60 for two people. Right out of the bat, we were a bit surprised that Brooks decided not to give any choices there. I understand that restaurants probably don't make much money off that menu, but even really expensive upscale steakhouses normally figure out a way to give a choice of several appetizer, entrées and deserts. Brooks provided a choice of meat vs fish for an entrée but that was it. The salad and a desert was pre-selected. As others noted, the building outside is very charming, but once we got in, the first thing that I noticed was a huge TV on top of the bar. While I agree that a TV in a bar is a good idea, that whole area should have been better isolated not to have a sport bar look - the upscale and pretentious steakhouse shouldn't have a TV that can be viewed and heard from every place inside in my opinion. Another area of the setup, which I was not impressed with, was how busy the main area was - too many tables too close together with no privacy whatsoever. We were lucky that we got a booth, but they only had a handful of those. Service was impeccable - no concerns there. Professional and very attentive staff and prompt service. My only issue was with valet parking staff. The parking was right by the restaurant so no wait, as expected, but I find it very unprofessional when parking attendants move the seat in the car to move it 20 feet to park it. I'm not sure why they needed valet parking there to begin with, but since they do, the staff needs to be trained on this aspect. Food was good, but not without the issues. No questions or concerns about the salad or desert - very fresh, tasty and somewhat sophisticated. The steak - both of us got fillet mignon - was very nicely seasoned and aged, but not cooked as we asked. My, supposedly medium rare, steak was just a notch away from biting me - it was barely cooked at all. My wife's medium well was a good medium rare. The mistake was too much to be counted a simply misunderstanding of what "medium well" is. Prices: Even with the fixed restaurant week menu for $60 for two, with couple of drinks and coffees we were handed the bill for over $100. Their regular pricing is way out of their league in my opinion. They price themselves at Morton's (or even higher) range while not quite offering the atmosphere matching their rivals i.e. Elways, Del Frisco, etc. If eating out of their regular menu, a bill for two people for a three course dinner with couple of drinks and coffees would easily top $300-$350 and, unless you are lucky enough to get a booth, you'd be sharing a floor with a bunch of closely put together tables watching sports on a TV on top of the bar. Oh, and make sure to tell the parking people NOT to move your seat!

Restaurant #1 of 2012's 5280 week. Wow... 52.80 week(s) in Denver is a fantastic opportunity to explore restaurants that I would not routinely visit. I'm taking advantage of it this year and visiting four new restaurants. Brook's Steak House is the first. I'm now completing this review after dining at Elway's downtown so I feel like I have a good comparison between a couple upscale restaurants. Brooks was top notch. My date and I had wonderful meals and great service. I was a bit disappointed that, of the three courses, there was only a choice of steak or salmon but, this is a steak place so, don't order the fish. Our waitress, Jackie, came to the table quickly and Identified herself to us and gave us a couple minutes to make our decisions. Bread was delivered during this time and it was a large round loaf of bread for the two of us, we took some home. Our water glasses were attended to whenever they got below half full. The salad was delicious with a wonderful house basalmic vinegar dressing that had a very flavorful unique tart taste. The beef tenderloin was cooked exactly as ordered, I requested rare and my date requested medium well, and had a wonderful blue cheese sauce with mushrooms. The garlic mashed potatoes and snap peas were cooked to perfection and they provided us with a side of creamed corn as well that was also delicious. For desert the only choice was chocolate pudding that was rich and flavorful. We had a great rapport with our waitress and asked how 5280 was going for them. Jackie said they normally serve about 100 dinners a night and during 5280 that number goes up to 500! We commented how wonderful we thought the food was and that we normally wouldn't come here with the prices as high as they are. At the end of our meal she gave us a $25 gift card and I'll certainly come back and use it! Now, if I had had to pay the full price of $35-$50 per plate I might have rated this place lower considering the equation of value/dollar but, as it was, for 5280. Get there if you can for this deal... it was FABULOUS!!!

I find it a bit ironic that a dinner discussing cardiac issues was hosted at a steakhouse, but that's a personal opinion... :) Anyway, I had the opportunity to dine here and was assured there would be a vegetarian option available. Lo and behold, there was. I am not sure if it is something that is regularly available on their menu (because I didn't see it listed when I looked online beforehand), but the standard pasta primavera (offered with red or white sauce [I went with red]) was above average. It had a good helping of veggies: broccoli, mushrooms, red and yellow peppers, asparagus, and tomatoes. A hearty red sauce coated the linguini well, and mainly I was just glad to have an option other than the sides. Which, were all very good--super buttery snap peas, garlic mashed potatoes, and creamed corn. For dessert we were offered chocolate pudding or cheesecake with strawberry sauce. I went for the chocolate, of course. Holy moly. This was the kind of dessert you wish you had more of, but with the gratefulness in the back of your mind that you don't because you'd surely eat yourself sick off of it. I tasted another's cheesecake; the strawberry sauce was quite good (reminiscent of diner strawberry jam in those little packets on the table, but probably without all the chemicals and crap). Ooh, and they also served an "everything" bread (think everything bagel) that was warm and crusty on the outside, white fluffy and makes-you-feel-like-glue on the inside (everything a table bread should be, no?). I don't suspect I'll ever eat here again. Partly because it's a steakhouse, partly because it's in the DTC, but mainly because I don't make six figures (ooh so this is where rich people eat!). Stepping inside I was immediately reminded of the bar in The Shining--you know, dark woody interior and it's 1980. It was a neat experience at any rate, and so if you're looking for a fancy steakhouse and you're rich or someone else is paying... sure make it a Brook's night. Go nuts, and get the choco-pudding if they're offering it.

To celebrate our engagement, the Beautiful Ms. D and I decided that something nicer than my usual taco stand or pho was necessary. Brooks is a very nice steakhouse. The ambiance and decor are traditional and classic. The service was almost spot on, with some minor glitches. The salads were, well, salads. The steaks were superb. The creamed spinach and the potatoes we had as sides were amazing. The desserts were also wonderful, and because we were celebrating our engagement, they were generously offered compliments of the house. The true test of a steakhouse, is how well the server listens to the needs of the customer. When I mentioned that I wanted my steak realllllly rare, as in threatening it with fire from across the kitchen, she asked if I would like it extra rare. Hello, we have a match! Out came my steak, lightly seared about 1/4" on the edges and still cold in the middle. PERFECTION! Why can't everyone do it this easily? As far as fine steakhouses go, Brook's is among the best.

Brook's used to be my favorite privately owned steakhouse, scratch that, my favorite steak house in town. While I think it's still a really great place for atmosphere, the food has really gone down hill. Twice now I've gone hoping for a better experience, and both times my steak was improperly cooked, my salad tasted like something I could buy at Costco, and the hostess was completely unhelpful about getting me to our table at our reserved time both times saying they were busier than expected. While I can't go lower than 3 stars because the steaks are still of a high quality, I am very disappointed in the direction this restaurant has gone.

My favorite steakhouse in Denver. I have been here probably 6 or 7 times. The service is some of the best I have ever had. I took my family here for a Christmas dinner (not on Christmas, shortly before) and we were treated like royalty. We had the crabcakes and the fried crawfish. The crawfish was just spectacular. I haven't had anything quite like it. The steak and lobster I had was some of the best of my life. A very classy place.

One of the best New York Strip steaks that I have had in a long time. Perfectly seasoned, charred on the corners and warm red center. I didn't want to stop eating. My husband ordered the Steak Oscar and thought that it was okay but then had a bite of my NY Strip and it was completely different. He decided that he wasn't much of a Filet kind of guy - he needs meat with a little more flavor. He loved the bread, mashed potatoes and then they sent out some creamed corn, compliments of the chef. It was solid creamed corn, although I only had a small taste as I'm anti carbs right now. The service was great and our water glasses were not empty the entire dinner. Very attentive. Love the pictures of the dogs in suits that are on the wall just as you enter the restaurant.

We went during restaurant week and the place was crazy packed! I loved the bread they give you even though it was kinda big for 2 people and i felt like i wasted the rest of it. I ordered my steak medium but it turned out a bit more pink than i expected. could be b/c they were crazy busy. under done is better than over done as far as steak goes though, so it was forgiven. we looked through the normal menu and it was pretty pricey. probably reasonable for special anniversary or some special occasions though. we will be back.

My Dad was here visiting from the East Coast and we had Open Table reservations for a great dinner here. It was Sunday, so the place was relatively quiet, but it was early. There is complimentary valet parking, and when we were walking up the door was opened graciously by the valet guy, very nice. The decor on the inside was very nice. Dark wood surrounding the walls, spacious tables, and a very inviting atmosphere. This would be a very romantic location for a nice couples dinner. Our waiter (I can't remember his name) was perfection - he explained all the specials and the menu (which was very extensive). The specials sounded great and the sides available sounded great. The meal started with a sizable portion of herb crusted bread. No need for butter the bread arrived warm and was full of great tastes. Also it is worth mentioning that the drinks were very well poured and did not leave you wondering "were the alcohol went". Very nice indeed. I decided on the Steak Oscar (filet's with crab meat and hollondaise), my Dad had the 14 oz. filet mignon. We both ordered the Brook's signature salad. The salads were fabulous, perfectly cold and crisp lettuce, lightly dressed and delectable with all the accoutrement's. The entrees arrived promptly with the sides we ordered, broccoli with hollondaise and potatoes au gratin. They also served us complimentary creamed corn - which from prior reviews is true to form fantastic! The steaks were cooked perfectly to our liking. Great crust on the outside on the steak with the perfect amount of seasoning and flavor. Yummy! The broccoli was great with hollondaise nicely drizzled over top. The potato au gratin was nicely flavored but just a smidge underdone, no one likes underdone potato's. This was the one flaw in the dinner. My only reason for not giving 5 stars. The waiter brought out a beautiful dessert tray which looked extraordinary. I was too full to take any liberties but I will make sure upon our next return I save room for some delicious dessert options. This is an extraordinary steakhouse and well worth the price. I see the price mentioned a lot in previous reviews. You are coming to a steakhouse - so expect the price to be high and also expect great quality - which you get. I will definitely be back when I need a great steak! *They also have a large variety of seafood including lobster and crab legs. Worth trying upon next visit.

What a nice place for a 2 hour holiday lunch. I had a filet and I asked for it rare and it was medium but very tender. They serve it with corn, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, and mashed potatoes. The house salad was delicious. The bread was so good that I was full before the main dish but I somehow full or not ate most everything. Then came the chocolate dessert. Yummy but my stomach said stop and after a few bites I listened. One of my friends had scallops and they looked wonderful. I think he had 5 maybe 6. That's a lot of scallops on a plate. Our server Lisa was excellent. She even gave me a try at the crumb scraper. I told the manager I tried but would not take her job. He said a set of Fisher Price dishes were on the way to my house so I could practice. It was good for a laugh. I have to admit I had a hard time going back to work.. I was so full and the glass of wine made me sleepy but my clients were calling. Back to the office I went. Made dinner for my husband but I was still satisfied. So many choices for steak in the area. I still have my favorite but if invited here again I would not say no.

I have eaten at almost every high end steak house from Denver to the DTC but never brooks. Many of my customers have eaten here and my boyfriend kept bugging me to go here so we went last night. I have to say I left feeling dissatisfied. First the valet guy was akward but that's ok. Then we get seated with no menus. Our waitress comes over about 10 min later takes our drink order, still no menu. Comes back with the drinks, then comes back again with the menus. So we were there for 20 minutes before we were even given a menu. Then we were given nice warm bread and literally a half of a stick of butter? Major turn off for me, I would never expect to be given literally a stick of butter at a cheap restaurant , never mind a high end restaurant. We gave our order the food came out in a timely fashion and everything tasted great, even got a complimentary side of creamed corn which was awesome. But the service fell of from there. Almost 30 minutes had past since we were done eating and no one came to clear our plates or offer dessert menus. Finally another server noticed us and cleared our plates and our server must have gotten the message that we were done. She asked if we would like a dessert menu and I said yes..another 10-15 minutes had past to get the menu, then another 10 minutes or more to come back to see what we wanted. I just said forget it at that point I was very sick of waiting and didn't even want to try the dessert. So we paid and waited even more to get the check back with our card. I MIGHT give it another chance based on the food quality, but the service for us left a lot to be desired.

I have frequented Brooks my entire life, and it upsets me to see the place so empty anymore after it used to be such a hotspot. The place is a classy steakhouse, with superb grub and a large dinning area. Its oldschool, and thats why i love it, damn goood lamb matched with equally delicous sides makes Brooks steakhouse the place for high class carnivores.

Over-priced, bad service, and food was just okay.. First, the wines are VERY expensive. -- about four times what you would pay retail. Second, we had a bad experience because even though it was NOT busy at all, we were seated closed to another table, and the man was complaining about the poor service and food. A manager came over and rather than resolving the issue, he argued with the customer for a good five minutes. (BTW, we dined there in 2011, but I am re-posting this because somehow my first review "disappeared." Hopefully, things have improved, though.)

My friends and I went to Brook's for restaurant week and were very disappointed the menu was very very limited and only had garlic mashed on the menu I can't eat them so I ask for something else only to be told by our server that he could double up on the veggie, just what I wanted a double order of snow peas so I ask for a mgr and he said he would give me a baked potato only to have it come dry and my meat was a shriveled up filet, this was the most upsetting meal I have ever had and my friend as well so bad wouldn't recommend.

I've eaten at fine steakhouses all over the country for decades and Brook's is a worthy addition to this august group. My daughter and I stopped by Sunday. It begins with complimentary valet or self-parking. The valet opened the restaurant door for us. The decor was as expected and that's a good thing. Expect lots of highly polished dark wood. Nicely spaced, beautifully set tables. The atmosphere is quietly elegant and subdued. We had Open Table reservations and were seated promptly and greeted by our waiter within a minute. Throughout the meal he was excellent. He was always there when we needed him. He was friendly and competent. Adult libations were strong, well served and priced fairly for a high-end restaurant. The selection of after dinner drinks was long and broad. Nice! The meal itself was a fine culinary experience. The Brooks salad was delicious with a hint of maple in the dressing. As for entrees, I enjoyed the 14 oz. filet mignon and my daughter loved the steak Oscar. Both were perfectly cooked, juicy and flavorful. We ordered broccoli with hollandaise and au gratin potatoes with boursin as sides. The broccoli was delicious. The potatoes we well-seasoned and beautiful but arrived slightly undercooked. When I mentioned it, it was quickly whisked off the table and the bill and a replacement offered immediately. It was handled so well that it hardly detracted from the meal. We were given delicious complimentary creamed corn as a third side. We were too stuffed to order desert but the choices looked amazing. Most cities have several high-end steakhouses and the Denver area is no exception. Brook's should be proud as they are an exceptional example of the group.

We had a private birthday party at Brooks on Sat night. The room was fabulous, the food was absolutely delicious and we had the best wait staff EVER... Dawn and Tom I think were their names. The were so attentive, funny and gave our group the royal treatment. It was a magical evening.

One of the best steaks I have ever had... period! Great meal here with colleagues. Started with the crab cake appetizer, which was extremely good. I had the bone-in ribeye, which was outstanding and perfectly done. My colleagues had the fillet Oscar and raved about the meals. Sides included some of the best au gratin potatoes I have ever had and corn complimentary of the chef. Both were delicious. Wait staff and the ambiance was very good. Definitely 5 stars all the way around!!

My boyfriend and I booked reservations for 8:30pm on New Years Eve. We wanted to try a new place, and "heard" this place was good. - A wait time of 46 minutes [we had reservations]. - Excuses from the Hostesses, "People are taking a little longer than usual". - The Bartender saying, "No, I can't make that drink" more than once [it was a Sangria], and I had to tell him "how" to make it. - Unaccommodating [Clearly overbooked, no place to stand or sit]. No joke. - The Banquet room we sat in was overly crowded and small. - The atmosphere was loud and noisy [this is not called "fine dining"]. My boyfriend and I had to yell, not talk, just to hear one another. - The lighting was extremely bright [not the type of ambiance one would expect, and certainly not romantic]. 2 Stars: - The food was good, but not out of this world. [App: Crab Cakes (expect them to be small), Entrees: Prime Bone-In Ribeye, and Lobster Tail, Side: Garlic Mashed Potatoes] I think the best part of the entire meal was the bread and dipping sauces for the crab cakes. - We were served quickly, which is not typical, but nice since starvation had already set in at that point. - Our Server was successful in convincing the Manager to dim the lights slightly. This restaurant has managed to survive for more than 30 years. I am boggled. New Years Eve should not be an excuse for such an experience. First impressions are important. We will not be back.

We went for Christmas eve with a party of 5 that included 2 children. The waiter never hesitated;advising us immediately they had two options for children in the event they didn't want to eat off the regular menu. I appreciate this because often times, I've had servers drive up the bill by only offering full size courses to children. All of the food was excellent, the oysters Rockefeller had a remarkably light and fresh taste instead of heavy breadcrumb taste, which is hard to achieve. The escargot was a buttery garlic delight, and the crab cakes were all about the crab, not the filling or mayonnaise. The chef included creme corn as a side dish and it was hands down the best I've ever had, the corn was still crisp. And the boursin scalloped potatoes were great too. The cuts of beef? Oh my! Like butter! Grilled exactly as ordered, even the filet was flavorful. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, even stopping to take a picture for our table even though he was very busy. I would definitely recommend and return

We met here for happy hour. Wine was half price and there were a lot of delicious options. We ordered and shared three appetizers - all of which were average. Service was fabulous - not overbearing but always there to fill up our water glasses or ask if we needed anything. Ambiance is a classic steakhouse. Crowd was dead - perhaps better on the weekend. Happy hour prices were decent. I'd be willing to return, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

My wife and I went here for our 30th anniversary dinner here on Saturday while we were visiting in Co. Our server was a very nice woman from So. Ca. originally just like us. She was very attentive and took care of our every need. The service was a Five. We had Grey Goose on the rocks to open our pallet and ordered a very nice bottle of Petite Syrah. We had the Crawfish Appetizer that was good. My wife had the rib eye and loved it, I had the bone in rib eye and it was very good as well. We had broccoli for our side and the chef through in the some cream corn. The sides were nothing outstanding just average side. At the end of our meal we were also given a complementary desert that was to die for Belgian chocolate mousse. I loved the personal touch and the attention you were made to feel as if you were the only client in the place.

We ate here as part of restaurant week and while it was really good, it wasn't the best. They serve a really good loaf of bread to start off the meal. It may have been one of the best parts. It was very warm and fresh. The first course is a maple/walnut salad that was really good. The dressing was a little sweet but I still really enjoyed it. The walnuts were my favorite part of the salad. For our meals, we both had the beef medallions with blue cheese sauce which came with garlic mashed potatoes and snap peas. The table was also served a dish of creamed corn. Everything was cooked perfectly, although I didn't love the blue cheese sauce on the beef. For dessert they served a chocolate pudding which was very rich and no one at the table finished theirs. It was probably my least favorite part of the meal but I am not a huge chocolate fan.

What a grand early evening we had! Sandi, my wife, and I went for Happy Hour from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in their bar area. The seven high bar tables overlook the elegant main dining area of approximately 30 tables. Brook's has dark panel decor throughout the restaurant with portraits of notably dressed dogs on the upper area. Andrea, the professional bartender, has worked there for years and knew how to expertly serve everyone with their drink and appetizer orders. The four drinks we ordered ($20) were perfect and made special for us. It was fun to sit and watch the help prepare for the evening diners. We ordered the Beef Tenderloin (3) Skewers ($6) with mushrooms and red pepper. The Fried Crawfish ($6) from China were shelled and delicious. Later we had the Potato Bruschetta ($6) and East Coast Oysters on the Half Shell ($16). Everything was pleasant and delicious for a total bill of less than $60. The restrooms were clean and luxurious, complete with toothpicks and Scope Mouthwash. Don't bother trying to find a difficult parking place. The $5 tip you spend for Valet Parking is well worth it. All the help was quite friendly and one of the waiters gave us a tour of their downstairs Cellar Room for private parties up to 25 people. Brook's is renowned for their superior steaks and the Beef Tenderloin Skewers proved that for us.

You know your night is going to be mediocre when one of the servers is bringing out waters for everyone at the table, stops RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU with three waters left on his tray and WALKS AWAY WITHOUT GIVING YOU WATER! Not kidding, I stood there with my mouth open, not believing what had just happened for like 30 seconds. My company took all its employees out to eat at this steak house last night. This place is participating in Restaurant Week, so we had one choice to make for dinner: Salmon or Steak. Duh...Steak! I don't know what it is about really upscale places, but they make me feel very uncomfortable because I'm always afraid I'm going to do something improper. And, well, I usually do because, hey, it's me we're talking about here. The other reason I hate going to fancy places is because I somehow have an invisibility cloak placed over me, so I am constantly bumped into by every server and busboy in the restaurant and never given an apology. Well, that's what happened here as well. Every 10-15 minutes, some server or busser would run into the back of my chair. Our server was extremely high strung and fairly unfriendly. If she was an inanimate object, she would have been a broken piece of glass. The food, however, was very good. We had a 3 course meal: salad, entree and dessert. The salad was good and I liked whatever dressing they put on it. The beef tenderloin was really freaking good and my medium rare request was spot on. The sauce was to effing die for. The sauce is what made this meal different from any other good steak place. Blue cheese creamy sauce with shiitake mushrooms. Heaven! The garlic mashed potatoes and snap peas were good too. Dessert was chocolate pudding in a bowl with whip cream on top. Don't get me wrong, it was damn good pudding. I didn't actually know pudding could taste that good. I would say that $26.40 for that meal was a very good deal, but after seeing the prices on the rest of their menu, I would say this place is hella not worth it for anything else. I can think of places that have better food for a lower price and a much nicer waitstaff that actually gives me water. I'm just thankful I didn't have to pay for this meal. If had had to pay, my review might have been a little lower.

We ate at Brooks for New Years eve this year, as we have for several years. Once again, the meal was wonderful. Steaks were perfectly cooked, salads fresh, and the sides tasty. While the prices are more expensive, the quality of the food/service are reflected in the prices, which is excellent. You are treated as a special guest, and the service is much better than the high end chain steakhouses........along with the quality of the food.

Okay okay, this has to be one of Colorado best steak houses. Where "other, lesser states" think that Ruth Chris's and other are steak house- they are not. They are nothing more then an over priced steak house CHAIN franchise. With that out of the way I can on and give my applause to Brooks. From the valet to the Sommelier, it is exceptional service. The Hostess is more then prompt with water and more napkins, if need be, and the wait staff- you can trust them, as they seem to have all had everything . Now, let me get on to the important stuffs...t he food. ! Disclaimer! (he he) let me just say I have been here over 20 times if not closer to 30 times throughout the years, and for differing occasions. Shoot, I have eaten here so long, I even remember the days when it had a "Cigar room", and most every man drank his Peat Whiskey, at the beautiful bar. The ambiance, and pre-dinner drinks are wonderful, if even though the high bistro style chairs are hard to climb for a shorter legged woman, when you are waiting for a table. I wish they had a lounge couch for us women. Anyway, coat check is a mere nicety and typically they don't need a coat check ticket- they just "know who you are". In all the times I have been here, I am not a steak eater, maybe here, just 2-3 times, I always found other sources of meat for me- the lamb chops of the lobster. I highly recommend the hollandaise sauce for the lobster (on the side) instead of of the unclarified butter, ghee. But that's just my preference. Please always ask for a "side" of hollandaise" they are very accommodating. All the sides are wonderful, I especially like the Asparagus (cooked al dente) and the Lyonnaise style Potatoes are also more then good. The only thing I don't like about this place is that they use Maytag Blue Cheese on the salads. I am a fan of Stilton, and to me, that is what should be on the salads. Also. they used to have "happy hour" and specials on entree's/ dinners- so please check Westward and 5280 publishing's. PS the dress is Colorado- up scale, and with a valet at the door, ladies we can make it to the door in Heels on ice :-) PS I have no "steak" in this restaurant (I am sure I will regret that pun) as I am not friends with anybody who ever worked there.\.

We've been there several times because my family members like it there. The service is always fantastic. The food is hit or miss. The steaks have ranged from fantastic to ok. I don't think the side items are more than mediocre. The desserts I've had have been quite good. It's way more expensive than Outback Steakhouse and I'd much rather eat at Outback. They have an extensive wine list, so if you're trying to impress a date or a customer with ambiance at an expensive restaurant, this is a good place. If you just want to have a good tasting meal in the same area, I'd go somewhere else. Maybe Del Frisco's Steakhouse or McCormick & Schmick's DTC.

Overbooked and NOT worth the wait! We booked our New Year's Eve reservation one month ahead of time. We confirmed our reservation, as requested, a day prior. We arrived for our reservation 15 minutes early (thankfully!) When we arrived we were told by a hostess "that the owners had overbooked the evening" and that we would have at least an hour wait before we would be seated. This is New Year's Eve. We also had plans to see a show after dinner, so we did not have a lot of time to spare. While waiting for our table we stood next to a group of two elderly couples openly talking about how they booked at the last minute and were able to get a reservation. We watched as one of the men slipped money into the hand of one of the hostesses, watched her take it, and heard her direct them to another area of the restaurant,. When we were seated, we complained to a different hostess about what we had seen, about how our evening had been impacted in a negative way by the very long wait and how the greed of the owners showed indifference to their patrons. Shortly we were visited by the "money palmed hostess" who insisted "we don't do that here." Our eyes and our ears did not deceive us. The waitress, on the other hand, was awesome. We explained that we had tickets to a show and needed to move quickly through our meal. She got us served and out of there in time to make our next engagement. BUT-to do that we had to rush through what should have been a special, enjoyable meal, taking our dessert with us untouched. The restaurant was jammed with unhappy, delayed patrons. The atmosphere was tense. We rushed through a meal we should have been able to linger over a bit and enjoy. Simply not worth the money and not a good part of our celebration. The food was good, but not awesome. Would not consider going back-especially for a special celebration.

My wife and I have recently relocated to the area from Las Vegas. We wanted to find a nice happy hour to celebrate finishing unloading our moving pod into our new apartment. Our search came up with the new HAPPY HOUR at Brook's Steakhouse and we were so glad we gave it a try. We have probably been to aprox. 20 different happy hours in Vegas and this one is as good as the best. $6 crab stuffed mushrooms were full of lump crabmeat and the tenderloin sliders were some of the best small sandwiches ever. $6 Finlandia lemondrops were very generous. All wines by the glass are half price, not just house selections, but any of their excellent wines by the glass. It seems not many people are aware of this new happy hour, and I hope all my new local neighbors learn of it soon and come show there support. The dining room is gorgeous, the only negative I could say is that the tuxedo shirt uniform seems a little eighties. A more modern uniform could go a long way to removing the "stuffy atmosphere" I've read in a few posts here. We received nothing but friendly service here.

One of the best Steak House I have tried and the best in Denver. The steaks are scrumptious and the sides are very good. Hard to judged if the place is overpriced, but all in all, the food made it easier to swallow. The atmosphere and waiter service was very good.

I had an amazing dinner here and can't wait to go back! I attended a dinner meeting here and was impressed with the service and the quality of the food. The appetizer was crab-stuffed mushrooms and they didn't skimp on the crab meat, either. Delicious! I could have eaten five of them.. but I acted the lady and only ate two~ Like I mentioned, the service was impeccable. The Brook's salad was delicious, with toasted pecans, julienned apple, mixed greens and a wonderful vinaigrette. Their fresh bread was great, too, although for some reason they only sliced the large loaves into quarters so it was really hard to resist munching on the large portion of bread. I ordered the New York Strip Steak and it was just perfect! Brook's definitely knows how to prepare steak! They served creamed corn, garlic mashed potatoes and snap peas on the side, which were all divine as well. I love it when they serve snap peas that are not overcooked and wilted. Yum! In addition to all that deliciousness, we were served a dessert. I chose the chocolate mousse...which was a chocolate lover's dream come true. Of course, I made sure to box up half of my steak in order to indulge in the dessert. This whole evening was an indulgence! But so worth it... I look forward to a repeat visit..

Pricey joint that has the food to back it up for the most part. Friendly staff and excellent service. I had the bone in filet mignion which was excellent and my girlfriend and had a smaller one. Here was perfect mine was a little burnt on the side but I didn't want to complain because I still ate it all. Been to similar resteraunts around and I dont think is any better for the price but still worth a visit. Cream of corn was delicious.

Nice decor, good steaks, good seafood, nice ambiance. Waiter went out of his way to be professional. Did not try any of the desserts but I'm sure they are good too. Pricing with side dishes is higher than your typical Mortons/Flemings/etc. outing, so come armed to spend.

Not my favorite steakhouse. I went on a lovely date with my husband to Brook's which we have been meaning to try for years. The food was good, not out of this world. The steak was a little overcooked for medium rare but still good, the cream corn was so very tasty but the atmosphere very outdated and for being a romantic place, far too many tables with young crying children, certainly puts a damper on after dinner nookie, at $75 per person I was more than shocked with the kiddos. Food also came out to fast, I like most people like to enjoy each course before the other comes out.

Obviously it's quite difficult for a fine dining restaurant to live up to its expectations. Such was the case with Brooks. I have worked in fine dining establishments, and patronized fine dining establishments for years, so I have some high expectations of my own. While the complimentary valet is quite convenient, the young man shut the door on me as we left before I could give him a tip. When we first arrived, the hostess didn't even bother to ask for our coats until she brought us to the table. At which time she was clearing the extra place settings, so I stood there until she returned a few minutes later so I could give her my coat. Once we sat down we were greeted with a loaf of bread that would have made Atkin's have a heart attack. We were greeted by our anxious, fast moving server fairly quickly and given a wine menu. Fast forward 25 minutes and we had still not received any food menu's, or wine. When we were finally given menu's and an explanation of the specials, it was as if our server had much better places to be. She was high strung, jittery, and made the restaurant feel like a 1950's diner, rather than a relaxing fine dining restaurant. At one point during the meal she came to our table and said, "You look familiar, have I served you before?" knowing that we had never been to Brooks. Not a big deal. However, 5 minutes later she was at the table next to us and asked the young woman there "You look familiar, have I served you before?". Next she was 2 tables down blabbing loudly about breach birth. This is fine dining? When going to the bathroom, the napkins were never re-folded. When being delivered food, we were back handed constantly. The "sommelier", which seemed to be just the bartender at the time, didn't explain the wine at all and didn't bring a white cloth to wipe pour residue, which then got on the table. We were auctioned off food multiple times and the entire staff there seemed like they had not a clue what they were doing. At one point we were offered a seafood platter which we did not order, then the table next to us was offered the platter as well even though they did not order it. These are simple things people. If the food wasn't so mediocre, the service might have been tolerable. The $70 dollar surf and turf had lobster that was killed, cooked, then killed and cooked again. It was tough as leather and needed the cold mashed potatoes to force it down. My steak was completely raw on the inside, and super tough on the outside. A sign of a chef who didn't care. The meat obviously had delicious flavor, but it was such a travesty to ruin it with poor cooking skills. The "complimentary" creamed corn, was most likely sent to us, as apposed to being thrown out. Thoughtful, but I can't be fooled. But wait, a bright shining star off the bow of the sinking ship. The free dessert. It was an anniversary dinner, so the dessert was taken care of. It was decadent. The chocolate was perfect and most likely of the finest belgian quality. The fresh whip cream was perfect in flavor and texture. Bravo to the pastry chef. If you are willing to drop big money on fine dining, please do it at a worthy establishment. If you want Denny's service, with Outback quality food, head to those places.

Ask for the celler. It is awesome. If you want quality, this is the place. This is the place you make your vendors take you, the place you propose to the love of your life, the place you go for celebrating that deal you just landed. The food is well prepared and man, they can prepare a steak!

Our first time here was insanely great- I thought I had a new Denver steak house. We were treated so well and the food was literally perfect. The manager even gave us a gift card to come back and convert us from Del Friscos. I really thought we had a new steak house. But on our last trip, the service was completely different. The waiter asked us if we had been here before and we said yes just recently, apparently we should have lied. He was a nice guy but barely paid attention to us even though the restaurant was dead. My drink was empty a lot and he barely checked in with us. The same manager that gave us the gift card, and even though he didn't remember us he was very friendly and great, I wish the waiter was like him. We will probably stick with Del Friscos because we are always treated very well, and it kind of makes me sad because I love the ambiance of Brook's and the food was very good, but the service really fell short (esp. when spending $50+ per person). Kudos to the manager but please get the wait staff to follow suit.

Expensive and worth it. I would give a slight edge to Morton's or Del Frisco if you are looking for a big night out.

I expected better. Maybe we didn't dress nice enough, but the service was not great, the stakes were over cooked and it just wasn't the great experience I had expected. We have been three times and it seems to have gotten worse, and in truth we have been disappointed two of three times. I have been in many of the great steak houses around the world, and the experience I have had at Brooks, is just ok.

I want to start out with a quick bit of info that probably boosted my rating from 4 to 5 stars. I went here after an open house at work, and my boss picked up the entire bill. Since my dinner was free, I was completely satisfied with the entire experience. (Yes, this place is Pricey with a capital "P"). If I would have been the one buying, I might have gone with 4 stars. Having said that, we started out with a huge bottle of fabulous French Bordeaux and a couple of the seafood appetizer platters (both the hot and cold). Everyone seemed to really enjoy everything....not being a seafood eater I only tried the coconut shrimp...which was awesome. Next came the salad (which is not included in the price of the entree. They all were around $9.00). I had the Caesar salad, which was amazing. Excellent dressing that was not too fishy tasting at all. Then the entree's came out (which range from about $30.00 to $45.00). Everyone ordered steak, but I decided on the lamb chops...mainly because the server said they had the best lamb chops in Denver. I had to try them and judge for myself. And Damn....they were amazing. But the best in Denver? I'm not sure about that. The Fort and the Buckhorn Exchange have some mighty fine lamb as well. The portion was huge.....3 of them came on my plate, with mashed potatoes and carrots. I could only finish 2, and took the other home for my husband to try. They were perfectly cooked bone-in chops: flavorful, juicy and delicious. I usually like some type of sauce with my meat, but these did not need any. It came with a side of mint jello...which I thought was weird and did not even try. Even warmed up the next day my husband thought it was amazing. The mashed potatoes were also very good. The chef sent out a side of creamed corn....the best creamed corn I have ever had! It was so delicious. I asked for some extra to go, with my leftover chop, and they gladly obliged. The service was excellent. We had 1 main server, and then 3 other "helpers" taking care of our party of 18. My only complaint about the service was that the waitress WROTE IN the tip after running my boss's card. That was a little strange....and he said he definitely would have tipped her more than what she wrote in. Her loss. Overall, I loved this place. Due to the pricey-ness I probably will only come back for a special occasion...or when someone else is buying.

This place is great. I am not the biggest fan of steakhouses (because I think I can always grill a better steak) but this one definitely surprised me. The service was a little lackadaisical but besides that, everything was great. The drinks were nice and stiff, the food came out hot and ready to be enjoyed, and the check came when we wanted it to. I ordered the 14oz prime cut rib-eye and it definitely did not disappoint. The steak was prepared exactly how I would have prepared it, which is definitely a HUGE plus! All in all, Brooks was a good experience, and if the opportunity arises again, I would definitely return. Brooks is expensive, but if you can afford it, I definitely recommend giving it a shot.

Best steakhouse in Denver. The creamed corn is delicious, the Brook's Salad is a must, the crabcake is almost all crab, and the steaks are incredible. Perfect date night restaurant :).

I called to make reservations on very short notice, less than a few hours...in the middle of prom season no less, and on a Saturday night. The manager was able to take seven us in and reserved a very nice table for us. The ambiance of the place is what you would expect from a high end steakhouse. We started with a drink order which took a long time to come back to the table. No biggie, the fresh baked bread and appetizers kept us busy. The fried craw fish, calamari, and oysters on the half shell were all fantastic. Ordered another round of drinks which, again were very slow...the drinks coming back to the table were slow enough that we started ordering fresh rounds as the prior drink order hit the table. Once we got the timing of the drink orders down the delay from the bar, or wherever the delay originated wasn't a big deal. Most at the table ordered rib eyes with a couple of guys opting for strips. All of which were prepared oscar style. The steaks were all cooked perfectly and there were no complaints. We ordered a couple of sides of creamed spinach, mac and cheese, and of course the cream corn which comes "complimentary" from the chef. Overall it was a great experience and a great time; don't miss the craw fish appetizer. I'll be back for sure.

The best steak I've ever had by far. Their New York strip is great. The creamed corn is also amazing.

This is one of the best restaurant experiences we've had in a long time. The food was excellent and the service was perfect. Brook's has been around a long time, and now I know why.

The only thing better than Brook's amazing food was the incredible service. We had bleu cheese and walnut salads, steaks cooked perfectly, creamed corn, snow peas and roasted potatoes. For dessert, a fantastic (although *incredibly* rich) chocolate pudding that was actually more like mousse or liquid fudge. They were very accommodating around a food allergy and the service was as good as I've ever had, from the valet and coat check to the wait staff. It was a tiny bit loud if you're trying to get to know someone, but highly recommend for a night with friends or a special date.

I love this place! I had the best lamb EVER here. We came here on a Tuesday, an hour before they closed so the place was deserted which meant we got really good service. My boyfriend had their NY steak and he loved it too. The lamb that I ordered came out perfectly cooked at medium rare. It was the simplest dish ever, just lamb seasoned with salt and pepper but because it was perfectly cooked and the quality of lamb was good, it was heavenly. I was ecstatic after our meal. We ordered a side of scalloped potatoes au gratin which was good but nothing special. But their corn was AWESOME. I forgot to mention the Brook's house salad. If you like sweet and salty, you would like this salad. The dressing had a little bit of maple syrup and chopped green apples so the entire salad tasted buttery and sweet. I loved it (although I think they dressed it a little too much... you might want to ask for dressing on the side). When dessert time came, we were so full, the three of us were going to share the homemade chocolate pudding. But since we were the only ones in the restaurant by this time, they told us that the desserts were on them. So they told us to go ahead and order 2 desserts! The pudding was so good!! Very chocolaty. I loved it so much that I forgot what the other dessert was. haha... I highly recommend this place. The ambience is kind of reminds you of an exclusive country club but don't be fooled. The servers there are very down-to-earth and super nice.

Long live Denver Restaurant Week! Last Sunday we had a chance to eat at Brooks. We were seated in The Oal\k Room. There were 16 adults and 4 kids. What an evening! We had the best waiter, great room, excellent food. I totally agree with Tyler H. who was there on the same night. It was a great nigh. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that Restaurant Week is the only time I can afford to take my family of 5 adults there. I am still sorry I could not finish my chocolate pudding.

Very expensive and mediocre food. Had 15 people in a private room. Ordered the NY Strip steak which was average flavor and texture for $43 (the steaks I cook at home are better). Ordered the Ahi Tuna which arrived rare as it should be, but it was cold. The a la carte side dishes were expensive and mediocre to very good. All in all, a very expensive dinner, and no one enjoyed the meal to justify the very large bill. Would not go there for dinner again.

My favorite steakhouse in Denver. The prices are very high (which is why I am taking off a star), so this is a special occasion kind of place, but the steaks are to die for. Plus you really don't need to order anything other than a steak, because it comes with sides (unlike other high end steakhouses where you have to order everything ala carte). Our service was outstanding, but that's pretty easy when you are literally the only customers in the whole place. (To be fair, we went at 6 pm on a Sunday - not sure how crowded that would be at a fancy steakhouse.) I got the steak oscar (two tenderloins with crab meat on top) and it was a like a little slice of heaven). My husband got the filet and said he could cut it with a fork, it was so tender. We'll definitely be back.

Been here twice. Years ago, though (on business). Not recently since I've had a family. The second time did not match the first, but that was because I did not get the rib-eye. The first time...BONE-IN RIB-EYE...OMG...it was the best rib-eye I have ever, EVER, eaten! Still cannot find/make one that had this flavor. Food - **** Service - **** Cost - $$$$ Parking - ** (not much self-parking if you do not like valet) Would I try again? Sure.

I have dined here twice. The food was just OK on both occasions. The last time I dined here I ate at a table in the bar area. The service was horrid. The food came out cold for some reason. The service in the restaurant was good, but the food wasn't that great in my opinion. My filet was flavorless. There are better steakhouses in the same price range.

I was stuck at the nearby hotel for a month and going here every week was my only treat. The staff is polite and friendly and I felt the steak was very good. But then again back in those days, I only ate medium well. I think they had a surf and turf which I thought was good as well. Sorry for the lack of details but this was well over 5 years ago.

best filet mignon i've ever had i think (either here or Morton's on State St or Wacker Place in Chicago). this was in 2003. when they had the best tiramisu i've ever had.

The great thing about this place is that they have a wine by the glass selection of great reds, way more than a few like other places. The sommelier is so helpful and we tried several instead of committing to a $100+ bottle. Seriously, there was not a single bottle below 100 in the Cab category, but we sure enjoyed the 10 to $15 glasses one by one until we found the one that was "just right".
